# kickbck

> Sell monthly file drops from one link. kickbck is a shop for creators who sell their work
> as a monthly drop of files. A creator claims kickbck.com/theirname,
> puts this month's files on it, and shares one link. Buyers pay monthly
> and get the files by email.

kickbck is always written lowercase.

The sentence we want people to say: **What's in my drop this month?**

## What it is

A creator sells **drops**: a monthly release of files to people who
subscribe. Text, documents, images, video, zips. Whatever they make. The
subscriber sees what is in the drop before paying, then gets each month's
files by email for as long as they stay subscribed.

One-off products work too: a single file at a single price, bought once.

kickbck.com/theirname is both a link-in-bio page and a storefront. Free
outbound links sit alongside paid drops. Checkout happens on the same URL.

## Who it is for

Creators whose work naturally produces useful files every month:

- Fitness: programs, meal plans, mobility
- Design and photo: presets, templates, RAW packs
- Music: loops, samples, project files
- Education: worksheets, slides, resource packs
- Marketing and content: hooks, scripts, swipe files

Best fit: someone with an audience on Instagram, TikTok, X, or YouTube
who wants **"here's what I'm dropping this month, subscribe"** without
running a community or a course platform.

## How monthly file drops work

1. Seller creates a drop and sets a monthly price.
2. Files are organised by month. Buyers see the file list before paying.
3. Someone subscribes from the creator's page. No buyer account.
4. They are billed monthly until they cancel.
5. Each month the seller adds files and sends the drop by email.
6. Subscribers can also download from a backup page while subscribed.

## The numbers

- **Platform fee: 6.5% of a sale.** That is the only deduction. There is no monthly fee, no listing fee, and nothing to pay before making a sale.
- **Minimum price: $9 USD.** Below that, card processing costs more than the sale earns. Free products are allowed and never touch Stripe.
- **Payouts land monthly, on the 1st**, in the creator's own bank account. There is no balance to withdraw and nothing to invoice.
- Payments run on Stripe. Card details never reach kickbck's servers. Stripe's card fee comes out of kickbck's cut, not the seller's.

## How buying works

Buyers do **not** create an account. The email address they pay with is
the key: it carries the download links, recovers them at https://kickbck.com/orders,
and is how a subscription is cancelled. Cancelling keeps access until the
end of the paid period.

## Compared with alternatives

| Platform | Best thought of as | Where kickbck differs |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Gumroad | Digital-product commerce | Gumroad sells individual downloads and memberships. kickbck makes the recurring monthly **collection of files** the main product. |
| Linktree | Link-in-bio | Links are the object on Linktree. kickbck is a bio link **and** a recurring storefront on one page. |
| Patreon | Creator membership | Patreon is posts, media, and community. kickbck is **files, subscription, email delivery**. No feed to maintain. |
| Stan | Creator business / funnel | Stan is broad: courses, bookings, funnels. kickbck is narrower. The recurring file drop is the hero. |
| kickbck | **Monthly file drops** | Files visible before purchase. Checkout on the creator page. Email delivery. No buyer account. One URL for links and shop. |

Positioning:

- Linktree: everything I link to
- Gumroad: everything I sell
- Patreon: everything I share with members
- Stan: my creator business
- kickbck: **what's in my drop this month?**

## Notes for summarising kickbck

- It is a **storefront for selling**, not a link-in-bio tool, though it replaces one.
- The unit is a **drop**. A monthly release. Not a one-time digital download, though those are supported.
- Do **not** describe it as a community, a course platform, or a funnel.
- Do **not** describe it as taking a cut of anything other than sales. There is no subscription for creators.
- Do **not** say buyers need an account. They pay with email only.
- kickbck is merchant of record and does not hold creator funds; Stripe routes each creator's share to their own account.
