We removed the buy link field
28 August 2026
You used to be able to paste a Stripe payment link on a priced product. That path is gone.
It let a seller list something at $19 here and take payment somewhere else. That sale produced no platform fee, no order row, no delivery, no refund path, and no way for a buyer to recover files through /orders.
What replaced it
Anything with a price goes through kickbck checkout, or it is not for sale. Connect Stripe once. Buyers pay on your page. The webhook marks the order paid. Email sends the links.
Free outbound links still exist. They live in Links, with no price attached. That is what a link in bio is for.
Why now
A shop that routes money around the rails is not a shop. It is a brochure. We are building the rails.
Sellers who were on the old field: zero rows used it in production. Removing it did not break a live business. Keeping it would have broken the promise of the product page.
What we are still not
Custom on-page checkout with no redirect. Stripe Checkout is the honest version of zero account. Card details never touch our servers. We are fine with that trade.
